Site Visit Information

DMZ Museum

The Goseong DMZ Museum features various exhibition displays, highlighting the historical significance and the meaning of the DMZ, the world’s last Cold War frontier. The museum presents images of Korea before and after the outbreak of the Korean War, the ceasefire line that was formed after the armistice agreement, continued armed conflicts between the North and the South, as well as its pristine, unique ecosystem untouched by humans.

Goseong Unification Observatory

The Goseong Unification Observatory is located in South Korea’s northernmost point of 38 degrees north latitude. From the observatory, visitors can enjoy the scenic vista of the East Sea and the sandy beach, including the Guseonbong Peak, which is the last summit of Geumgangsan Mountain; Haegeumgang, dubbed as “Sea Geumgang”; Gamho Lake, which is associated with the legend of the fairy and the woodcutter; and the small island, Songdo, surrounded by sea foam.
